client to locate an exceptional: Vice President, Sales
Our client is an innovative technology organization
founded in 1999, that has quickly established its reputation for
its patented technology that is transforming the visual display
experience by delivering award-winning display technology. Backed
by 45 approved patents, this breakthrough in visualization is the
first display technology that provides actual depth. Our client
has, among others, multiple manufacturing, marketing, sales and
distribution license agreements with major international technology
companies. The company is headquartered in Silicon Valley.
Our client is seeking an experienced Vice President
Sales to lead in driving and managing key product-related partnerships
and technology licensing deals. The ideal candidate is an innovative
thinker with broad experience in creating and managing domestic
and international technology partnerships.
This position reports directly to the CEO. The
position is focused on teaming with the marketing and engineering
organizations to obtain key partnerships that would improve the
product, reduce costs and/or save time. This is a unique opportunity
to be a Vice President Sales who is building world-class consumer
electronics products, and is part of a development team. We are
seeking an individual contributor with a history of successful relationship
building. This is a critical position with a clear need and huge
opportunity to make an impact on the success of the company.
As in most great startups, this ground floor
opportunity requires flexibility and enthusiasm to expand the role
and meet the changing needs while juggling multiple priorities.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in technology business development
- Minimum 4 years of experience leading business development partnerships
- Strategic thinker able to see relationships with new technical
fields
- Practical and optimistic attitude with a results-driven personality
- Experience managing long-term partnerships
- Experience in New Business/New Product Development/New Product-Program
Management
- Demonstrated skill in negotiating complex deals and creating a
long-lasting win-win situation for
both companies
- The skills to balance between “creating the perfect deal”
and “getting the deal signed”
- Broad experience reviewing contracts and working with legal staff
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Exceptional senior-level presenter, skilled in negotiations, and
relationship-building
- Maturity and temperament to excel in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Background in LCD/LED Technology and/or hardware engineering is
a big plus
- MBA is an advantage
- Sales success with major IT industry manufacturers
- Bay Area candidates preferred
Responsibilities:
- Own all technology/product business development activities for
an expanding suite of products
- Analyze key opportunities, research the market and seek out competitive
offerings
- Develop and deliver executive level presentations about the company
and the business value of the
partnership
- Conduct thorough background checks on potential partners
- Provide high-level financial analysis on the deal/partnership
and its impact on the product/business
- Negotiate deal terms and drive conclusion of legal work
- Manage all contractual obligations (on both sides) through the
life of the partnership
- Act as main contact and liaison for all partners
